Tanzania Children Education
About Us

"When children cry, let them know we try..."

The purpose of this corporation is dedicated to improve the quality of life for disadvantaged children and families in African and other underdeveloped nations through direct service and funding of the development and operations of orphanages, schools, refugee camps, food distribution, delivery of medical assistance, and economic and business development programs and such other programs and activities consistent activities within the mission of our corporation.

Our mission is to reduce the suffering of those less fortunate, especially the millions of children that are homeless in the more remote and tragic areas. Thousands die every day from diseases and starvation after losing their parents to HIV. Tanzania Children Education's vision is to make a difference in these children's lives by building orphanages that include small schools. The needs are massive and in a state of emergency, which continues to grow.

Right now in Tanzania, all regions of the country are overwhelmed by poverty. Most of the population is becoming frustrated, desperate, and with no faith or hope.

The vast majority of the youth have no skills or job experience to enable them to be employed. This results in drug addictions, robbery, and prostitution. Africa has deep wounds, many of which were inherited from one generation to another. Those wounds, caused by slavery, colonialism and ethnic wars have resulted in poverty, bitterness, diseases, and ignorance.

Founder and Chairman of the Board

Teri Allen is a resident and citizen of the United States. She ventured to Africa in the year 2000, on a safari expedition. Incredibly touched by the lives of the people and children and the smile of a street boy, Michael, she decided to stay in an orphanage in Nakuru (Kenya) to help children that came from the streets, brutally and physically abused by their parents and heavily on drugs. She saw the struggling and the suffering in their hearts, the need to give hope, and started to travel every year since then, dedicating and teaching these orphanage children about hygiene health habits and to be responsible.

Encouraged by the faith and belief of these children, today Teri is the founder of Tanzania Children Education. She is the voice of street children that are unable to explain the fear they face on the streets every day. She believes education is the answer that will save Africa. Teri has traveled throughout Kenya and Tanzania doing humanitarian work with street children for the past nine years.
